My evaluation for my magazine

                            Evaluation

My coursework task was to create a college magazine front cover and content page, i then decided my magazine would be targeted for the Christ the king students . For this task I had to take a pictures that I was going to include for my magazine using a canon E0s 400D, the reason why I had used this particular camera is because it would help my magazine look as professional as possible and effective in terms of the focus of the camera rather than using any other low budget camera. I had created my college magazine using adobe Photoshop cs3 which was very useful because it was very good in editing the images and font text of the front cover and content page. I am not a big fan of adobe Photoshop cs3 because It is a very complex editor for me as Photoshop is not the first choice for me if i was to edit a magazine. When it came to using the still camera, I was having difficulties with operating the camera because it was my first time using a canon E0S 400D camera and also focusing well on the subject. How ever after a few practises I started getting used with operating the camera this then started to build my confidence more in using the camera.

I believe that I could have taken a better medium shot of my subject,as my subject was to  close to the camera and because of this it blocked the background in the picture.

The headline ‘ctk.magazine’ stands for Christ the king magazine and it detonates a ‘fun’ college the reason being is because of the style of my font ,the reason why I have chosen the font to be wonky is to give a good impression of the college .In my front cover I was having difficulty pasting a barcode unto the page and so it took me quite a while to find a solution to it .Eventually my friend had helped me to paste my barcode unto my front page and I followed his steps whilst he was doing it and then I was able to do it myself .

For my contents page i thought i could have done much better in making the text look more appealing and interesting but because i didn’t know where everything were such as the effects ,texture, gradient etc it made my content page look boring and plain

I believe Photoshop helped my magazine look as effective, using a range of different design tools that it had to offer. If I was able to use photoshop as well I reckon my magazine would have looked as brilliant as ever, so far I practised on using different tools. Hopefully in my actual magazine I would have improved well.
